Travis Kelce is opening up about his high-profile romance with Taylor Swift.
In a new cover story with WSJ Magazine published Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, discussed how their relationship began, their similarities to each other and his growing admiration for Swift, 33.
Kelce was characteristically forthcoming in the interview, telling the magazine that after their missed connection at her Arrowhead concert in July, it came to light that people in Swift's circle were "playing Cupid."
"There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner," he said. "She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out."
Kelce also got an assist from Swift's family.
"She'll probably hate me for saying this, but … when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room and her little cousins were taking pictures in front of my locker," he continued.

Travis Kelce's friends urged him not to mess up with Taylor Swift
Since Kelce and Swift have been dating, the football star said his friends have cautioned him on doing anything to mess up their relationship and he's tried to limit what he says to the media. "That was the biggest thing to me: make sure I don't say anything that would push Taylor away."
Speaking about their similarities, Kelce shared how their love of family and approach to work are aligned.
"Her team is her family," he said. "Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley."
Kelce, of course, is family-oriented as well, with the interview delving into his relationships with his brother, Jason Kelce, and mother, Donna Kelce, who has also been a figure in their relationship.
In October, Donna Kelce did an interview on the "Today" show, and when asked about her son's relationship with Swift, fans interpreted her response as underwhelmed.
Donna Kelce clarified that she was attempting to avoid sounding too enthusiastic. Afterward, Travis Kelce called to reassure her and compliment her eyewear.
"I can tell you this," she told the publication. "He's happier than I've seen him in a long time ... God bless him, he shot for the stars."

Travis Kelce calls Taylor Swift 'a genius': 'I'm learning every day.'
Kelce is now America's No. 1 Swiftie and recently caught the pop star on tour in Buenos Aires. He shared that he's a big fan of "1989" (he and Swift's birth year) and was eager to hear its single "Blank Space" live.
He also gushed about how "hilarious" Swift is, and called her "a genius."
"Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been … mind-blowing," he said. "I'm learning every day."
Kelce said Swift is also showing him how to handle the massive increase in attention.
"Obviously I've never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them.... I've never dealt with it. But at the same time, I'm not running away from any of it …" he said. "The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day … and she's just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange."
